Kent Variations by Norwalk Furniture Creates Choices Galore to Offer Thousands of Nearly Custom Sofas
Now a consumer can have a sofa her way
NORWALK, OHIO, Oct. 18, 2014 – Often finding exactly what you want can be a challenge unless you are talking about Kent Variations, a new program from Norwalk Furniture that is as close as possible to being a custom designed sofa without actually being one.
Kent Variations, Norwalk’s most ambitious addition to its popular Variations customization program, allows consumers to create 6,400 different sofa frames by choosing the arms, base, legs, length, seat depth and back height. Add Norwalk’s 800 fabrics and 30 wood finishes to the mix of choices, and that number spikes into the millions for sofas that can be specifically designed to suit your needs. Most styles also are available with or without nailhead trim.
“Consumers today are determined to get exactly what they want,” says Dixon Bartlett, merchandiser for Norwalk Furniture. “The Internet has opened a world of options, especially for Gen Y, roughly between the ages of 20 and 35. They expect a tremendously broad selection and are confident in their ability to create seating that is uniquely their own.”
Kent Variations is a direct response to customer requests for more customization. “With the arms, for example, we went beyond the standard, expected styles and added several specialty arms, which provide a remarkable amount of flexibility,” Bartlett says. “We also addressed individual comfort with our seat depth and back height options.”
Kent Variations is invaluable to retailers, who can offer a nearly infinite number of sofa selections in minimal floor space.
“With just two sofas and four chairs, you can show six of the arm choices, all of the bases and half of the leg options, as well as the seat depths and back heights,” Bartlett says. “That’s an incredible return on investment in showroom display.”
Kent Variations offers:
- 10 arm styles – rolled slope arm, track arm, flared arm, curved scoop arm, flared sock arm, wide track arm, slope track arm, curved flare arm, pleated arm, and sweep arm
- 5 base styles – kick-pleat skirt, straight front rail with exposed legs, rolled front rail with exposed legs, built-to-floor, and waterfall skirt
