Bernards Furniture Group Introduces Casual Dining Sets and “Island Dining” Category for Kitchens at April High Point Market
GREENSBORO, N.C. April 22, 2017 – New casual dining sets from Bernards Furniture Group this spring focus on the heart of the home – the kitchen. In addition to 15 new casual dining sets that work well for small dining rooms or eat-in kitchens, Bernards is launching an Island Dining program, which was developed in response to the growing popularity of kitchen islands as a favorite gathering spot and central command center of the home.
With a broad mix of materials, fresh new finishes and unique design details, the casual dining collections cover a variety of design styles, with a strong showing of soft transitional and contemporary groups. The six Island Dining groups feature convenient bookcase storage, electrical outlets, and USB ports for charging electronic devices.
“The kitchen island is not just for prepping meals anymore,” said Fran Scheller, vice president of merchandising and product development of Bernards. “Their popularity continues to grow, and they have become a favorite place for conversations over coffee, algebra homework and an occasional glass of wine. It is the focal point of our home, which today, must be more flexible than ever.”
Highlights of the 15 new casual dining sets include the Frisco Casual Dining Set, which features a distressed rustic brown wood table top, which rests on a dark black metal base with angle-iron styled legs. Faux nail head details on the table apron and metal slat-back chairs with contemporary gray textured fabric give the group a rustic, industrial look.
