Artisan and Next Generations Upholstery by Harden
Show Stopping Fabrics and Ultimate Comfort
Harden Furniture, McConnellsville, NY October 2014 – Harden will feature the #8523 and the #3609 sofas for upholstery this season plus four additional new sofas and a new right or left arm chaise. Each new upholstery silhouette reflects a more transitional design aesthetic and features Ultimate Spring Down cushioning. Over 100 new fabrics have been added to the line with styles ranging from casual to formal.
The #8523 sofa features a continuous bench seat cushion, a fluted cherry leg, and a higher shelter arm with a multitude of throw pillows for additional comfort and design. For the more casual customer, the #3609 wood frame sofa is constructed using a combination of solid cherry and cedar. This sofa will be debuted at Market in a beautiful red and turquoise story which reflects a colorful approach to casual. On the dressier side, there is a neutral palette that is anything but shy! The use of metallic tones of silver and copper add a fresh approach to traditional. Also let’s not forget about the use of animal and reptile motifs which are still a very current look.
“For the past several markets we have commented about gray and its role as the new neutral ” says Beth Penley, VP of Design for Harden. “It continues to prove it has staying power! A fresh combination of sunny yellow, cream and clear red gives the gray story a fun and youthful appeal. This is just one example of how we paired gray with a variety of colors to create an inspiring and distinctive look.”
Harden invested in major improvements in the comfort of its new Artisan Upholstery collection by offering innovative and exclusive cushioning as its standard. The company developed a new Ultimate Spring Down seat cushion with a Comfort Down back that has taken comfort to a new level. The seat cushions are individually constructed using Marshall-unit springs with layers of high resiliency foam, memory foam, all encased in a generous double sewn down envelope creating a lofty crown.
